Results from the survey

Throughout all my research and previous knowledge and experiences dealing with Veganism, I will say the results mirrored my prediction. People either knew what Veganism is or had no idea. I expected this because there is little information out there, especially with Vegan diet as a defense against environmental issues. And in regards to environmental issues I wanted to be shocked, but felt as if I expected, that people didn't really know that the food industries (meat, poultry, and dairy) had one of the largest impacts on the environment; Global warming.
I think this survey really helped me get a grasp on how people viewed my topic, and I think I can use that towards my research, that there just is not enough knowledge about the topic out there, and there is more to Vegans then just 'PETA' and animal rights.

  1. And once you are armed with information, what will you do with it? Maybe a life/career question.

    1. My ultimate goal with the information is to educate others about what I know. Its both a career and life question... I am going to live a compassionate and environmentally-friendly lifestyle, and will have evidence to support my decision. My career plan is to become a teacher of environmental sciences. I only hope with this gained knowledge I can help both people and critters.

  2. Coming from someone who is an anti-veggie person. I am finding that your research is very interesting. I do not know a lot about Vegans and I am enjoying learning about them through your blog. I will look forward to learning more this subject. I do not think I will ever be able to give up meat, but that does not mean I do not wish to learn more about Vegans.

  3. I am curious how the Vagen diet plays a part in the defense against environmental issues. I know friends and family that are into the self sustaining way of living. But other than no meat diet, and the PETA movement for animal rights I am in the dark. I know that the processing (fuel consumption, emmissions of CO2 carbons, water usage, etc...) of animal flesh for consumption effects the environment tremendously (Global Warming). Trying not to sound negative, but, this industry has been running forever and I feel it cannot be changed, due to the reliance upon, and convienience for today's consumers. I look forward to seeing future post, to enlighten me on the Vagen livelyhood you have chosen.

  4. I appreciate your comment, and no it does not sound negative (regarding the change), however we have to be optimistic about these things -or how else will anything get done if we just expect the outcome. I am aware that the food system is being productive in means of producing enough for today's consumers.

    But what about future generations?

I pose that question (and will proceed in more detail in an upcoming post)
