Veganism is the avoidance of eating animals or any animal
bi-products. This includes meat, fish, dairy products, eggs, honey, animal
gelatin, and any other derivative of an animal. Vegetarian, a very similar
lifestyle, just excludes meat, and a pescetarian diet excludes meat but allows the consumption of fish. Veganism is not
only a diet change, but a lifestyle change... It has been referenced to as a
"compassionate" lifestyle aimed towards benefiting animals (us humans
included too.)

Interesting blog. I know of this really good vegan cart on SW Powell called Nutri taco that is super tasty. I never thought that eating vegan food could be filling and enjoyable but I was wrong. It would be cool to know of some other vegan places around Portland for those who are interested in giving it a try!
ReplyDeleteI have to recommend the BEST Vegan pizza (ever) at Oasis Cafe in Hawthorne! The prices are quite reasonable as well.
ReplyDeleteI would like to also mention that even replacing one meal a day with a Vegan (or even Vegetarian) meal can immensely reduce that carbon footprint as well. I will gladly look up some statistics on how much emissions you are preventing by doing that one day-switch. Thanks for your comment.
